I'm Bankrupt without Love

Every time the song "The Proof Of Your Love" by for King & Country comes on the radio, it touches my heart. The line that says "So let my life be the proof, the proof of your love" is especially what gets me. I want that to be my anthem! Lord, let my life show your love! I'm obviously nowhere near perfect, but I hope this is always something I am true to, and that people can see about me.
In the song, someone from the band speaks 1 Corinthians 13:1-7 toward the end. In The Message version of those verses, it says:
Bankrupt without love. Just let that sink in for a moment.
Sometimes I think it's hard to truly comprehend this kind of love that God speaks of in this passage. We think we know true love. We think that we know the deepest kinds of love, but imagine God's love. The truest of true loves! Amazing.
I want my life to encompass this. I want people to think love when they think of me. I want every action I make, every word I say, to speak love. But how?
"Let my love look like you, and what you're made of. How you lived, how you died, love is sacrifice."
What you're made of. What God is made of. Love is sacrifice. The ultimate gift. How can we even remotely come close to showing that kind of love?
For me, I think it's by studying His word to become more like Him. How can I let my love look like Him and what He's made of, if I'm not spending time getting to KNOW Him and what He's made of?!
I want to keep in the forefront of my mind that I can believe all the right and true things. I can even do everything the Bible says. But without love in my heart, I am bankrupt. I'm nothing without that love.
This is my prayer for myself, and for my family...that our lives would be the proof of His great love.
