Summer Grilling: Salmon

Can I start a summer grilling series in August?! I realize I should have started this in May so people had time to actually try the recipes during the summer, buuuuut, by the time this blog got up and running it was summer already and well, I've had a lot of things to talk about over here!
 Anyway, we love our grill. We have been known to be out grilling in below 0 temps, because...we can. And we love it. I figured I would spread the love and share a few of our favorite things to grill! 
This one is probably #1 on our list. We heart salmon. Actually, my husband had never tried it when we first met. Being from Colorado, I guess that somehow meant I ate it more than he did in the Midwest, but he was quick to become obsessed. There are probably a million ways to make salmon, and we have probably tried most of them, but this is the method we always come back to. 
Ingredients:
Salmon fillets
Brown Sugar
Sea or rock salt

Take your {raw} salmon, place it on some foil or a plate, and smother it with brown sugar. Lay on as much or as little as you'd like. We slap it on and rub it around with our hands to really coat the fish.

Dump some salt on top of it and spread it as well.
Place the fish directly on the grill (if you are worried about it flaking onto the grill, you can put it on a piece of foil)
Cook for about 12-15 minutes, until the fish flakes easily.

  2. That looks delicious! We use our BBQ all winter long, negative temps and all. I'm going to have to try this recipe out!
