December Happenings

Happy New Year!
I hope you and your loved ones have had happy holidays and some time to relax over these last few weeks! December always has many special events for us, so I just wanted to do a quick recap on some of the stuff our family was up to in December.
It seems like we always do lots of Christmas Jammie photo shoots in the month of December each year.
Even though this photo is blurry, I think it is my favorite of the whole month. Their faces are hilarious and so descriptive of their personalities!

We celebrated our anniversary on December 20. We got fancied up and tried a new {to us}restaurant downtown, and then went to the theater to see 2 plays in one ish. It was really fun and just great to spend the evening with my man, not having to worry about rushing home for bedtimes and such!

My mom and her husband arrived from Colorado a few days before Christmas. The girls always love having company stay...lots of extra attention, love and presents of course.
We went to down to the Children's Museum one day and it was a lot of fun. We are going to try to get a membership this year so we can go more often!

Then of course, there was Christmas. Christmas Eve we decided to start a new tradition and let the girls open their presents to each other. I loved being able to open one gift on Christmas Eve, so we thought this would be a fun way to carry that tradition on! They were so cute about picking out gifts for each other and opening them. They both chose well for the other!
I will spare you millions of pictures of my kids opening gifts on Christmas, and just tell you that we had a lovely day. We did our little family Christmas in the morning, and then went to my in-law's for brunch and gifts. In the afternoon the girls played with some of their new toys, I cooked a Christmas dinner and then we went to a big light show after dinner because the girls had loved it when we went before.

We spent the last four days of the month at a church conference in Des Moines, and we are feeling refreshed and renewed. It was fun to spend so much time together with some of our favorite people, and my girls loved running the halls of the hotel every night before bed and giving goodnight hugs to 10 people every day :)
It was a great December, and we are ready for 2015!
