z1- age 2.5

There's been so much I've wanted to say about my boys over the last 20 months, but of course, I haven't been able to. Foster care confidentiality rules are absolutely necessary, but made it so hard for me to share about our life for almost 2 years! I am so happy I finally get to talk about my boys. What makes them tick, who they are, what they enjoy and what they don't.
I'm starting with my first son today, so here we go! This is him at 2 years, 9 months.

First born twin. Was almost 1 whole pound smaller at birth (2 lbs 7 oz). I don't know how long he was, or what time he was born, and I hope I can find out because it makes me sad that I don't know.

My guy is stubborn as all get out. Unless he thinks it's his idea, it is NOT happening. If you wait him out, he'll eventually decide it's his idea and go with it but BOY does he let you know about it during that waiting time. Whew.

He is OBSESSED with his dad. Obsessed. I have no other way to describe it. When he was about 18 months old, he went through a phase where he would literally only cry unless my husband was holding him. It lasted for months until we got him into therapies. If his dad was around and not holding him, he would cry and nothing we would do could make him stop. Thankfully, he got over that but his love still runs deep. Real deep.

He is also absolutely obsessed with animals. Specifically dogs, but really he's not too picky and any animal will do. He also legitimately thinks dogs are called "good boy" which kills me. Every time he sees a dog he yells "gooooo boyyyy". If you ask him where a dog is in a book, he'll point to it and say "goooo boy." He also sleeps with this giraffe every night and calls it his "guh".

We used to have to take him out of the sanctuary at church multiple times each week because he was crying. Now, we have to take him out because he's too happy and can't stop laughing :)

He gives the BEST hugs and kisses. He throws his little arms around my neck and squeezes me so hard. He has the most kissable lips in the world, and is so happy to give kisses whenever we ask.

This little boy is solid muscle. He is small but mighty. His shoulders are completely jacked, and when he flexes his gut in the right way, you can see a 6 pack beneath his baby tummy. It's crazy. He is freakishly strong and loves to be active. I think in about 10 years, he will be working out with his dad in the garage and loving it.

This boy feels everything big. He is the happiest, the saddest, the most dramatic, and BOY can he hold a grudge. He loves so big, though, and when he is happy (which now a days is most of the time) you can't make him stop laughing.

He has an alter ego that starts every night around 7:30 p.m. Well call him "Bedtime Z". He gets so insanely happy and giddy about absolutely nothing and everything. It is so funny to watch. You can almost guess what time it is based on his personality in the evenings. He stays like this until we put him to bed.

This little boy who at his last checkup was in the 6% for BMI, can PUT IT AWAY. He eats and eats and eats. He keeps me terrified of my grocery budget when he is a teenager. It is not uncommon for him to eat as much or more than my grown husband, who eats way more than an average man. He will eat any and everything that I put in front of him and I REALLY appreciate that about him. He is lactose intolerant and seems to intuitively know to avoid dairy, but will eat absolutely anything else.

My precious son has worked so hard to overcome so much in his little life. He has had physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech. He's graduated from both physical and occupational and a completely different child walked out than the one who started. He still has some sensory issues, but has improved 10 fold. We are forever thankful for the therapies and help we received, and for all that we learned about him and how his brain and body work.

This kiddo is definitely an instigator and button pusher. He loves pushing his twin brother's buttons. He loves getting a rise out of him and being a little stinker to him. For the longest time, his favorite toy was whatever his brother had at that time, even if he was holding the exact same toy. He is so wild and always destroying something in ways I can't even figure out how he did. One time, he climbed out of his crib and pulled a piece of trim off the wall. Like, how in the world? He has given me a lot of gray hairs in that way.

My boy is quiet and shy at first, usually unsure of new people and situations. Once he decides things are alright, his personality comes through and everyone falls in love with him.

He loves music and dancing. I have no idea why, but his favorite thing to dance to is Miley Cyrus' Party in the USA. He gets so into it. He also plays a mean air guitar. I always imagine him being in a band when he's older. His beat is so accurate its incredible.

He says I love you as "wuh". It cracks me up and melts my heart.

His name means "God is gracious" and his middle name means "glory". I hope and pray this boy will know and love the Lord with all of his heart and glorify Him with his life.

Join me back here tomorrow for blogtober day 3, where I'll be sharing some educational gift ideas for kids!
